Tough day on facebook flowerhorn group

Flowerhorns are basically vieja-trimac cross with some other central americans thrown in.And I have seen amazingly colored vieja just fed with run off the mill cichlid pellets.So same will work for flowerhorns too.I am really fed up with these magical flowerhorn food stuff going on man,it is just repulsive.Unhealthy too,main reason why our fish become swimming butterballs with livers twice the size they should be.Used to feed them but won't ever again

Magic food makes money, truth doesn't. Sadly the scams will go till idiots exist.

Same goes on with asian arowanas too.With their magic foods and constant inbreeding within a small gene pool those breeders out there are breeding aros that live 5-6 years if lucky.Not a arowana expert but even I know those fish can easily see 15's and more if sourced from a good breeder and fed proper food.

That's sad to see Asian arowana running in to this. I hate inbreeding, at least with kamfas they can bring in some wild vieja from outside of the inbreed flowerhorn gene pool.

These kinds of discussions happen all over the place. You can hear the same stuff about Africans or just general SA/CA. I've made it a point to never trust the option of those that stand to profit off what they are saying.

Definitely true, no one is safe from idiots and scammers. I much prefer to get advice here for that reason (forums give a better idea about the person as it shows badges and how long that person has been here), even then if I doubt something I ask (a lot of) questions.
