tough/hardy semi aggressive fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just out of couriosity will well rooted hardy plants be ok with a nicaragua cichlid? Also would they get along with cichlids like oscars or are they to aggressive toward them?

I think a red wolf would work. especially since they stay smaller. I have had armatus with my oscar and they coexist well. Since wolf fish are not as active and are bottom dwellers, they may not encounter each other that much

tank size makes a big dif, you going to need at least a 6ft tank to put anything with an oscar. I have had 9" female jag with my oscars with out an issue, but this 6ft 180g.

Ok thanks for the info guys but which fish would be better the dantoid or the nicaragua cichlid or do you think you have a better option then those two fish.

again what size tank?

Oh yeah sounds great let me go pick up a dovii right now that will work wont it.Seriously dude im not that stupid.Plus im starting off with an 80 gallon aquarium the reason why im talking about this is because i like to plan ahead its part of my issues.Should I pick up a golden dorado to for the tank?

if starting with a 80g, I take this to be a 4ft tall, your Oscar is it, can throw a 6" or so pleco in to keep tank glass cleaned up, I would suggest a gibby but no other larger cichlid, 4ft foot print just not big enough. when he reaches 6 to 8' you will need to be doing fin level or 90% water changes twice a week, I would suggest a AC110 HoB and a canister, whither a fluval 405 or same like be good. When you get a bigger tank can look for more tank mates.
