thin ones were the worst! I'd rejoice when my mom used the sandals instead of thin, flexible objects

I got a paddle when I was kid, that hurt. I was always glad I got the paddle over the belt. We only got the belt if we did something realllly bad.

i was a mean mom.. actually i was a single mom with BOYS.. all three of them met my leather belt at least once, and more than their fair share of switches off the tree in the front yard, a butter paddle (courtesy of my grandma).. those are the main ones.. i'm sure if the boys chimed in they would give the whole list.

Oh it happens....Whenever I dropped the newest cuss word I heard at school, mom would march me into the bathroom, have me sit on the toilet, and she would place the green bar of soap in my mouth. I would have to sit there for a good 5 minutes before she would let me up. I hated it.
