Don't mix your African rift lake fish with West African Riverine cichlids.. They require different water parameters.

If anything i'd go with Convicts. They have similar water needs and stay rather small yet still hold all their own. Or a Divandu albimarginatus. They stay half the size of a butti.

does anyone have info on Divandu albimarginatus. I googled and did not find that much info on them. and i have keep jewels with buttis before and there water parameters are similiar. also what are they different type of convicts

in a 180 a frempongi and butti might be able to exist with each other, but both species are so aggressive, so nothing is set in stone

if you have a good backup plan, maybe you can try it

it would be cool if it worked out

I heard that mbuna will do well if you have a large tank, bumble bee and Chipokee's are pretty bad @$$
