Toxotes blythii

Hey,
I've got quite a crazy offer from a czech fishshop.
Toxotes blythii for 20 Euros per fish.
I've never kept Toxotes before!

I've got some empy growout-tanks (20-50gal) and some 75gal tanks for angelfish as well as my 120gal tank with my Mastacembelus dayi.

I've got some general question.

Are they suitable for community tanks for example a 75gal with angels?

Is it ok to keep them in an open tank?

Are they aggressive towards other fish?

Should I take the offer?
Of yes how many of them should I order?

To my knowledge, they're pretty rare. That's pretty much all I know about them. Sorry for being a bit useless. :P
 
I would say keep them in the 120 with the eels. Reasoning behind that is they are not really small fish and they have been said to do best in groups.

Im not sure how they would do with angels but a group of 4-6 in a 120 would look great

I think they'd be ok with angels but don't keep them with small fish such as neons which may get eaten.

They are jumpers. Keep their tank covered or surround an open tank with netting to keep them from jumping out.

I don't think they are aggressive towards other fish but they can be aggressive towards each other. To disperse aggression keep them in groups or as a single specimen.

Thanks for your replies!

Oh it would take a long time for them to grow that big the M.dayi would not try to eat them!
I'm getting juveniles with about 5cm in length.
As growout-tank I'm going to use a 50-55g standard tank with a 3ft length or a cube (55cm x 55cm x 65cm) which I would fill half so the waterlevel would be at about 35cm (this would make it possible to install some sticks or pipes they could shoot crickets from).

Sadly I was able to just buy 2 individuums which will arrive next tuesday.
But since the owner of the shop seems to be a nice person she might be able to get me some more T.blythii!

those are awesome. Nice pickup! I see them here for around c$100 each.
how many did you get?
I miss living in Europe, So many cool fish get imported.
