TRACK racing...anyone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah the track does larger full out autox. This was what they named "crooked drag" crooked = not straight. There was a U turn and a hairpin turn at the end and a few slight turns in the middle. You luanch when you start and you try to beat the other person you are racing through the mini course thing. It was acutally a lot of fun. The area we were using was not the entire part of the road course area. The lot extends further back and has a road course. To the right at the same time there was drifting going on (I think you can catch a glimpse of it in the back on the last 2 races of the video) and to the left is where the drag strip is. I should have had someone video tape in car or done it a bit earlier in the evening before it got really dark so you can see it better.

I enjoy autox, tracks and cooked drags more as my car is more focoused on suspension than it is on power.

I used to race a lot, quarter mile races and trackdays.

This are some videos of my loved srt4

fatcat- They do timeslips now but at the time the course was still relativley new so they didnt have the system for it set up yet when I was there =[ I do have slips from the 1/4 mile I did with my old automatic accord (yeah I know......) I have video of that also... I lost it on my old laptop when it crashed but its somewhere on mfk, I ll have to see if I can dig it up.

JT. - Nice videos. I enjoyed the last one. Looks like you have a lot of fun with your car.

Yes, I really had some great moments with that car, I sold it last year. Last time I new about it was a couple of months ago and it was being sold in Cancun :(

Now I Have a Mustang. RWD, for real men :grinno:

Thats a bummer. You have good memories though!! I know I miss my old car too, it was another teggy though >_> I am torn on getting a different car.

How is the mustang? what year did you get?

well sad to say it looks like my video no longer exists on youtube, I found the thread. I will have to look on my other laptop and see if I saved it on there or not.

My fastest run that night was 17.6 (I know its sad, it was an accord!) and the person I went there to race against had a modded eclipse that ran 18.1... so I didnt feel so bad. I think I still have the time slips somewhere in the closet.

I did snag a pic of the window of my car thought haha.

Its a nice standar Stearling Gray 2010 GT, I really wanted the 5.0, but because of some work time schedules I couldnt wait.

Its not the sort of car I am used to, starting with a lot of equipment I dont really give a f****, like changing the interior illumination color or the voice controlled comands or the sat radio. Honestly I dont used anything of those but girls love it jaja

Talking about the handle, it is quite good and stability control helps a lot but by the end of the day it still a RWD.

Open track / road course FTW!!!! Screw straight line, too boring. Left and right is where it's at.

I'll be at Homestead in the pits this weekend with the boys from Roush Racing for the Grand Prix of Miami. We took the class last year...hoping for the same this year. Might have a shark at the track again, too. :)
