Around a couple of weeks ago I advertised a hybrid female I brought from a friend as she was turning into a right pain in the arse and biting all her fellow tank mates. She was a mmXretic, looked like a mini tiger.

Someone enquired, I then sent them some footage of her which included footage of all her tank mates.

Long story shortened, I was made a serious offer I couldn't really refuse to purchase my mature pair of WC Hystrix, female probably pregnant, along with my smaller CB female Hystrix and the hybrid.

So for my trio of Hystrix and the hybrid, I traded a trio of pure BD pups and a wedge of cash. Good deal I thought. It had to be because I never had any intention of parting with the Hystrix. The chap delivered the BD, bred by him, on an approx four hour round trip.

So now, I'm the proud owner of a trio of BD, one male and two female, joining my LeoXBD female. Pups are sectioned from her and will remain so for several months until I'm confident they have put on some size and weight.

Sounds like u had the better deal, I have seen pics of the pups before as they was for sale about a month ago and they look even better now. Congrats on ur new Rays

Thanks very much everyone. I'm over the moon with them. I'll feel more relaxed once they've grown some more and fattened up a bit. I'm feeding 3-4 times a day and they're all feeding pretty well

Very nice! Defenitely a great deal on your end

Nice deal for both. And nice pups. That 3rd one is quite appealing to me. Great symmetry, clean spotting and quite tiny (-:

Totally agree. This thread wasn't started to show off that I thought I'd done someone over without trying.
I spoke to the BD breeder for sometime before we settled on a deal. We both know how thin on the ground Hystrix of any size are in the UK, same in the U.S. I imagine, let alone mature specimens. We both agreed that it's not about the monetary value of the fish, because obviously BD command a much higher price.
We both had something the other desired.
Everyone's a winner.

I have to admit, the last pup is my favourite also at the moment.
