So lasy night I was fesing my bahia hes only 2.5 3 inches right now I always throw in crushed masivore but he never eats it olny black worms. So I was feeding my big tank and decieded to throw in a piece of tilapia for my kelb and it ate one amd sampled a bunch if others pices. My question is should I juat keep trying tilapia..i was excited I just want him odf worms..i know as tbey griw they get more stubborn any suggestions.

If your Bahia is sampling tilapia, I would alternate between the two. Little bit of blackworms then tilapia.

Try floating pellets.

im trying to get my tem off of feeders and worms. hes only 6" no luck yet :(

I agree with kendragon try floating my mono smashes them like no tomorrow.

hulon?????

I would ween them off of feeders and keep them on worms. Tems aren't really hard to convert (IMO/IME). Kelberi's (for me) are the hardest. Monkey see, monkey do I guess when it comes to pbass.

Dlok, I believe your talking about your F1 bahia. Get them on pellets right away. They are not stubborn like WC kelberi. Hulon suggested floating pellets because out of my four bahias, two would take sinking and two would only take floating. Once they get bigger they will accept both. As HCR suggested ween them off feeders and keep them on worms to build their appetite up. :y220d:

Yeah i fixed that my bad

Im just trying to get the tem and Orino i have on pellets i dont mind feeding them worms since they only eat about two full earthworms and their belly's are jammed. I just want to feed them a variety of different foods.

And i wanna get my hands on a bahia kelb im working on saving up right now.

All is good. At a small size, cichla just needs to be fed, given its feeders, worms, pellets, bloodworms, sivlerside, shrimp, cut up fish, mussels and so on (which I keep stock while growing baby bass). Once the bass get around 8'' or so, then try and vary the basses diet. But, if you can get them on a varied diet sooner with out starving them, then that's great.

All the other fish in the tank eats pellets hopefully that can convert this subborn bahia
