training bahia kelb

All is good. At a small size, cichla just needs to be fed, given its feeders, worms, pellets, bloodworms, sivlerside, shrimp, cut up fish, mussels and so on (which I keep stock while growing baby bass). Once the bass get around 8'' or so, then try and vary the basses diet. But, if you can get them on a varied diet sooner with out starving them, then that's great.

Yeah very true i never starve them, They are always getting fed and getting water changes, Just gotta get them big enough to start cramming pellets.

Why are the bahia kelbs so hard to train for pellets?

As stated by Hulon, F1 Bahia's aren't as stubborn as wild Kelberi's. Bahia's were captive raised and I'm pretty sure they were introduced to pellets/crushed/flakes at there "fry" stage, giving them the chance to get use to the pellet taste (I guess). While wild Kelberi's are a pain in the arse to convert.
