This thread is why most of us ask "what size tank?" because its flat out animal abuse. Most of us have learned over the many years of keeping larger fish ( fish period in some cases) that you do not just put a goldfish in a 1gallon bowl and expect it to live a long happy life... because that is what the OP is doing. And you can not expect to come to a forum like this and think people will be "supportive" of you abusing your pets.

And making excuses of "well this is as big a tank as we can have ect ect.." then don't keep big fish! It's like justifying keeping a horse in your backyard.. it's 120% selfishness period. unethical, and inhuman. If you don't have the means, space, ect... what gives you the right to abuse another living creature?

I use to wonder why some of you guys are such "jerks" Brian.... makes a lot of sense lately. Reading thread after thread similar ( this has been one of the worst lately) about big fish needing big tanks... And people doing this to their fish then in a month or 2 saying the fish died... and that they just got another one to replace it ect... kinda ticks you off after awhile. When they've been told more then once.. by more then one person what is being done wrong. But that one or few people who tell them "it's okay"

+1 to that. I've most likely been called a jerk [or worse] before, for the same sort of reason. You get pretty tired of reading time and time again "waaa my arowana jumped out and died" or "why can't I keep a silver aro in a 180g, it can turn around fine". Call me a jerk/snob/a**ehole/whatever, but IMO people who are only interested in doing the bare minimum for their fish don't really belong here.
