Transferred my retic to new tank....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You are right. That is one Ashley/Mary Kate Olsen skinny ray. Wow, good luck fattening her up. Do you think that it could be the lack of sand and the rocks that are spooking her? I've seen it before where rocks will spook rays out.

tank looks good....

Impressive!!!

Very nice tank setup! Those DW looks amazing and natural, fits the setup perfectly.

I know the lack of sand is bothering her some. She keeps flipping her disk, trying to bury herself, but obviously she can't. She has hung out on top of the rocks a few times, so I don't think those bother her at all.

As she was swimming along the front glass this morning, I noticed some parasites on her belly. I had to net her out and flip her on her back on a towel to be able to pick them off with tweezers. She did not like it. She was making weird squeaking noises till I tipped her back into the water. I hated to have to stress her out again like that, but I figure I needed to get those parasites off (there were 3 of those little water flea things).

I think that if that was my ray I would have been using Prazi by now. Pulling them of by hand does not eliminate them in the tank. It just stresses her and starts the process over again.

I'll have to pick some up. That was going to be my next questions, if I should go ahead and Prazi the tank or not.

Just thought I'd update. The little girl is still very skinny, but I did see her eating some blackworms today, and she was actively "poofing" into the rocks, looking for more. She's also been very active, even swimming around the tank, up the sides, under the driftwood, etc. I haven't seen her play in the bubble column yet, but hopefully she will.

I don't know if she's out of the woods yet, but she definitely seems to be doing better than she has been for the last few days.
