Transformers the movie

I figured he wasn't a gun in this one because they didn't like the idea of having him turn from a handsized object into a giant robot. Everything was relative in size, so I figure they'd do the same with Sounwave.

I just read an interview with Michael Bay and he did say that he wanted the sizes to match. That means no explanations about how the heck Gigantic Megatron goes from towering killer to "tiny" handgun! This was also part of the reason for making Optimus a different type of truck, he claims the old style cab would only put Optimus at around 18' or so, instead of the 25-35 or so feet he wanted for the movie. I just saw ths for the second time tonight, it was just as GREAT! The only people I hear complaints about are the "superhardcorefanboys" that are upset that every detail doesn't match the beloved cartoon. I thought I would be one of them, but the movie is just SOOoo entertaining!!!

The cartoons weren't perfect themselves, I mean when we watched in our childhood it was kick ass, but now we see the oldish cartoon revealing is flaws. And with robots looking like they are made out of boxes...it's not gonna work today, things change and in my opinion they have changed for the better.

The hardcore fans complain about how Megatron wasn't like in the cartoons. First these alien robots can transform into anything they see fit, be it a jet, a gigantic gun, truck, tank whatsoever...the reason for Megatron was simple, he came down to Earth as he was and he went frozen right away.

He never got the chance to choose an earthly alternative or features. His jet was an alien jet, and his looks were obviously alien too. He was just complete steel, that was how the Autobots looked when they crashed upon the earth before adapting. In Transformers 2, I believe Megatron would then get a chance to transform looking differently unless he is just full of ego and prefers his own looks than like a human being.

ZOMG i have been waiting 7 weeks to post on this thread...and let me just say, this movie was the best i have seen in a while...or even in my life...the cgi was incredible, the story was good...followed most of the cartoon for the time frame they had...yeah megatron didnt turn into the gun, but seriously that would have been a little stupid...i like how they incorperated the kids in there, cause in the cartoon, they always had that group of kids helping them out..bet no one noticed that....but overall it was spectacular
