One ac adapter, two tubs, one large pump w/ two adapters, two airstones so you have one for each tub.

And as stated, make sure the owner doesnt feed the day before.

i contacted him and he said he would stop feeding as of sat morning. Im also thinking about picking up an orino from another guy. Would i need 3 tubs then? lol

I was just saying multiple tubs to spread the bio load. SInce the fish are small(all under 6"?), the two tubs should work. Its better safe than sorry. YOu could even throw some media in the tubs to play it safe.

And I always put a large towel or 2 under my tubs. In my wagon there is a large rubber mat. When I use my sedan there is no rubber mat. SO i put a tarp down then towels with the tubs on top of the towels. No matter how good you drive water will spill. Lids on the tubs of course...and duct tape around the top to try and help keep water in also.

Just a warning though, cichla take horrible to transporting. I've seen first hand perfectly healthy fish go belly up during a move, or shortly after being chased around with a net. Even with well oxygenated water, they can go into shock and die.

Here's a few experiences:

Bought some larger monos from a local member. He had a temensis in the tank also. I guess us chasing the monos around with the net caused the tem to go into major shock. He was dead shortly after I left.

Another member, tranporting a large tem and ocell. Perfectly healthy Tem died along the way, for no reason whatsoever.

On several occassions I've sold fish to other guys and they died on the way home. All were in large totes properly aerated.

My opinion: the stress of chasing them around with the net and moving to a container, followed by a transport can send them into shock. Seems like their heart just stops working, very strange. Only happens with cichla. Cichla will put up a good fight when trying to catch them. If all of the sudden they give up and you can net them easily, be careful. Those are signs that they could go into stress overload. Just my observations.

Interesting i had different experinces. I picked up 3 pbs a 17inch tem and 2 12-14 ocells drove them 13.5hrs and all was well. Picked up kelberis and drove them 3.5-4hrs and same thing. I think its all in the preparing of the fish and transport system. But ill agree a stressed out fish is doomed.

I agree w/ the stress part. ANother reason why a wc is a good idea for the seller. That way he can drain the tank a bunch to make netting easier. Ive had the stress/netting issue happen w/ a silver dat as well.

Its all about patience and preperation.

Made it home alright with all the fish alive. Thanks for the help guys! I ended up putting the 2 aros, 4 ocells from one seller in the 30 gallon tote and the orino from another seller in the styrofoam crate. Had an aerator running on the 30 gallon tote and a battery operated aerator on the styrofoam.
