Thanks guys.
The original plan was we were going to close on our house around the 20th and start moving in and we didnt need to be out of our apartment until the 31st.
well, closing on the house was alot slower on the other side (bank, owner etc) then we were told. Basically we closed on the house the 27th. That night, I started painting and moving stuff etc.
the plan was, I was going to transport my wifes 90 gallon and set it up and keep it running for a day. Her fish, were going to live in the bath tub for a night.
well I set her tank up, and the following morning I began emptying my 125 with the silver. I had 2 big tiger shovel nose cats, a big marble sail fin, a big rtc and then my silver. I put my 3 cats in one 37 gallon tub and my biggest tsn and my silver in the other. The house was only 10 minutes down the road so I didnt need to put alot of water in it. Well, I used my big rubber fishing net for muskie's to get the fish out of my tank. My biggest fear, was hurting the aro and having him jump. So I did the cats first, and the aro last. I get him in the net, and put him in the tub, as I start to close the lid, he shoots out and lands on the floor. It took me about 45 seconds to grab him, and I threw him in the tub.
So I get to the house, and the tank was alot colder then it should have been. My one heater, decided to break during the night. Now, I am freaking out so I put a power head in each of the tub's to get them air, as I begin taking out water from the tank and adding hot water. I get the tank up to about 75* and put them in.
instantly my aro drops to the bottom and I begin freaking out. I continue to take more water out, add hot water etc. thinking the water wasnt warm enough. Also the night I set the tank up, I put aquarium salt in it as well. Well a few minutes go by, and he starts to come to it. I hang out for a while, and he starts sitting right side up. I had my family meeting me at my apartment to move everything, so I couldnt stick around and wait.
few hours go by and we get to the house with everything. My wife got there before me, and she runs out and says "damion is ok!" so I was excited. I run down, and he was still acting strange, but nothing that would seem to be a concern, knowing that these fish get highly stressed.
so we move everything and get the 125 set up. I let it run for a while, get it up to 78*, and then move the fish. I know this was a bad thing to do, but I had fish sitting in the bath tub that needed to go back in the 90 gallon. I put all the fish in, and they are all good. A day goes by, and he started to act more like himself, but I noticed about a 1/4 of his tail end was pretty banged up. His scales were discolored to a pale looking color, and his fins were torn up. Then he started swimming funny. Bumping into things, and hanging his tail a little higher then his head and wobbling and such. 20 minutes later, I come down to check on him and he was dead. He was dead, sitting vertical in the corner of the tank.
