some where over the rainbow
im geting a jardini tomarrow and i need to know all the tricks of keeping him alive, he is about 4-5 in and he is going in a 75 all by himself.
later in a few weeks i am going to try and get him some friends, what fish should i put in with him (preff from the same places)

Freinds are not a good idea. After they reach about 1 foot, they seem to get really agressive and killed all their tank mates. Some people said they had tank mates but 50/50 chance i'll work or not. I got my Jardini in a 125 by himself for the last 2 years.

Steve_89 did a great job with it and you should read it through...

Jardini have the reputation of being the bad guys of the arowana world. They can be very nasty and a lot of us have discovered the hard way that these guys should either be kept alone or tankmates should be seleceted with care. I would advise you not to introduce a jardini into a tank with a fish you dearly love. You may wake up in the morning and find it dead...

only one trick.....and its the same with all other fish.....keep water in tip top condition. :)

they don't do well with tank mates or rather the thank mates don't do well with jar. you could try but chances are slim. :)

The point was, don't keep it with other fish, that thread is testament to that.

To keep it alive? What kind of question is that? Just look after it. Do water changes twice a week, feed it a variety of good quality food, give it a big enough tank with good filtration.

How do you keep any fish alive? Just take care of it.

Jardinis are certainly hardier than most fish, it's not easy to kill a jardini.

i didnt find any infomation in there that was anywhere nere useful
That is strange, I found it very useful. Well anyway, the above info the other members have provided is spot on, they are fairly hardy. Best of luck.

i have no exp with jardini's but to confirm what is written above: a friend of mine has one and i see it every day. he had it with some other fish but they only stressed out the jar. after taking everything out, the fish is looks better and feels better too. so i'd no go with any tankmates, how tempting it must be to add something you like.
