Trim leaves on large Echinodorus?

Hellow MFKs.
I have an 18" echinodorus as a focus point in my 120 tall that came with a few tattered, damaged leaves.
Should I trim the leaves back to healthy tissue, remove them at the base or just leave it alone.
It's in about 4 inches of flourite black sand.

Remove at the base with sharp scissors. You don't want them rotting & fouling your tank

Agree cut them as close to bas as possible. The big leaves are most likely emersed growth and will die out.
