could these two live together in a 150 gallon???? 6 foot tank??????? for example if it didn't work who would be the one who couldn't make it ???

I don't know but I am going to try the same thing actually. Just need to try and get my trimacs to catch up to the Jag. Currently in seperate tanks. Either one could win just depends on personality and will to dominate. I would guess most likely the Trimac would win but the Jag I have now seems pretty mean Has half of a 125 to himself with 4 Red Terrors, vieja synspilum and a Butterkoferi. All about 3-4 inches

If u got them as juvy's it would last a while and when they matured put a divider in if needed as far as who would last the longest that's hard to say but the trimac is a bit more meaner but the jag could outgrow the trimac if it's a dude a 150 with hideing places will keep them for a couple of years maybe u will make some hybreds good luck.

if anything i think the trimac would be the one to get smoked, but i personally would try it. their aggression levels are close enough that even though they would beef i don't think one would necessarily be able to mess the other up too bad. probably buying them little and raising them together would help

trimacs have some nasty teeth on them as well. my 10" male bit me once and it definitely didn't tickle.

I am going to try that same combo in the future in the same size tank.
i would give the edge to the trimac. have a divider or extra tank available. good luck!

I didn't say so in my last post, but I think the odds of a trimac and jag (especially if they both wind up as males) getting along in a 150 without a divider is about 1%...if that. both get very big (12" minimum but probably more like 14-16") and jags are highly, highly territorial while trimacs can be psychotically aggressive. if you use a divider I don't think either fish would have enough room once they start getting to their jumbo size though they'd be fine for a few years. :)
