I have a pre adult male Trimac that is already showing signs of aggression and dominance in the tank with rather large CA/SA Cichlids (Oscar and Jaguar) along with various aggressive fishes, I was wondering if a Trimac can be kept with anything that is not as aggressive like a Ram, Sevrum or veija?? Clown loach? Silver dollars?

Not for very long. Trimacs breath fire. I have kept them with red devil, and jags. But every thing else i tried was either killed or I saved it from near death. Oh large pikes are good too (my brother has a trimac with an adult pike now and they never mess with eachother) and probably umbee. Any way good luck adding anything to the tank if the trimac is already established.

God damn, I knew they were bad but not this bad...They are all going in a 180G so plenty of room for all these guys to roam. Is there anything colorful that I can add with a Trimac that can handle itself?

It's always trial&error with these guys cause individuals vary in temperement. You could try Midas,Red Devil or bout any of the parachromis(except male Dovii or Mota).Make sure the largest goes in the tank first or all at once and then pray and keep a close watch.

I hear clown loaches can take a beating? And Silver dollars are probably too fast for a Trimac.

Why not a Dovii? Aren't they just like Jaguar and Umbee?

There's a few I listed. Theres probably a few more. Anything after your trimanc is established will be a gamble. Even a wolf the same size would get harassed. Best to add during the size upgrade and let the new fish get established before the aggresive ones go in.

I don't know this Trimac got some balls, he was in a tank with peacock bass and flowerhorn and catfish along with other cichlids and he was punking everyone around and he is only about 4 inches. He is really colorful as well with bold stripes and also has a "dragon tear" looks to be male and he only costed $20usd. What a steal! I can never find Trimacs!

Dovii is wolf cichlid and they IMO are the king of cichlids. I wouldent try to keep a male with anything. Here in Tacoma thers a LFS called aquarium paradise. They have a large male dovii (Ike). He is pretty mild and I've seen him lift a cinder block that was holding his lid down trying to bite someone resting there hand on the lid. When I say lift I mean like 4 inches. He's also on his third mate I think. I know he killed Tina. They have tried all tough fish with him and he has killed all including his mates.

A lot of cichlids just ignore clown loaches. Most cichlids aren't insane though.

Here's a lesson I learnt very recently: my male trimac will grab and kill even the silver dollars, which, I thought, were very fast for him. He killed ~6 SDs over night, and ate them before morning.

He is completely nuts, and won't tolerate anyone else except the female (though barely). My tank is 125 gallon.

Every fish is different, and maybe mine is too aggressive. But as someone else has rightly pointed out, trial and error -- just don't spend too much money on the fish you plan to introduce in his tank :)
