There is a guy named Skip on youtube who owns aquatic kennels. I believe he breeds what he calls a pyro trimac which is basically a line bred trimac that is more yellow than greenish. I found this number on his youtube page (fishlaw1)

Wow thanks guys everyone has such pretty fish and thanks for the information on Skip the pyros are stunning but the more i look at them and knowing my self im a cichlid purist i prefer as true to the bloodline as possible. No offense to anybody holding hybrids some of them are gorgeous just in my mind there mutts, Im the same with dogs lol.and at my shop i only keep wc and f1s we have a few that arnt but thats our asstd tank to keep prices low on fish. So with that being said i think id prefer a wild caught group to pair and just hope one turns exceptionally yellow. Does anyone atm have any wc trimacs they can show off?

I don't have any new info on trimacs, just wanted to say that is a seriously cool custom tank setup! What is the function of the horizontal plastic pieces attached to the front of the rocks? Looks like some sort of waterfall system?

I agree, that is definitely one cool-looking set-up. My biggest concern is that since it's not a fully covered tank, you might want to inquire about "jumpers" and how bad Trimaculatum is .....I know Parachromis is notorious for it and as glass-bangers go, the more aggressive species tend to end up dried out on the floor.

You dont need Wild Caught fish. They're not brought in too often from Central America anyway.

Just get some real Trimacs from a reputable breeder (Jeff Rapps). Get a group of 3-4 of whatever sex you want (they can tell sex really young on this species).

Put them in a big tank--bigger than a 125. They'll look awesome in 6-9 months. Well, one male will anyways? The rest will look kinda ragged Or dead.
