ppl buy them if u like them, as u can see most ppl, disagree with the sellers classification... so dont make that the bases of ur purchase... good luck on ur sale... and as i said b4 I didnt come in here to derail his thread period... most ppl trust the people they buy from, ex. "rapps" but am guessing "rapps" himself didnt bag those and ship it to u... and therefore they don't do any sort of research, they only PM, and trust u.....shesh if you like someting you buy it...so just pointing out ur misleading information...
glock

what makes you say they are Flowerhorns? They are not fully matured yet. If it is the females coloring the female colors up like that during spawning. Just curious other than your opinion, convince me by actually stating what makes it a FH. I believe they are trimacs.

it is posted in the breeding section..
Trimac AKA THREE SPOT CICHLID aka Cichlasoma trimaculatum
MAIN THING TO LOOK FOR!
3 black spots... if there are way more it's probably not a Trimac, but that is not the only thing to look at...you can also look to see if there are pearls, or a water head or TRIMACs dont have very outstanding pearls, and there color is yellowish/greenish/goldish also the trimac body shape is different...
SEARCH the scientific name on google (Cichlasoma trimaculatum) and you will see pictures, look at them carefully...

BTW some types of ZZ FLOWERHORNS HAVE TRIMAC GENES IN THEM... this attributes to there close similarity.... also many many ppl have stated true pure trimacs are hard to find...(why would this view be taken if "rapps" sells them... why would "oddball" be interested?.."rapps" prices are very reasonable...)

Gotta search gotta read then you know... btw I personally was unable to located any resorce online that stated explicitly telling the differences among these...

also it's not just like am the only one with this opinion.

ammerman19 look wat u did, now u made me derail his tread... sorry

if u interested in buying from him by all means pm away

LOL... This dude is unbelievable...

I was going to continue to try and argue my point but I believe you just flushed every last bit of credibility you MIGHT have had with that last rant.

I'll say it again, the fish are immature. You should do some of this research you keep talking about. You're wrong.

Rapps has the same exact fish as my parents on his price list right now, listed as "chunky grow outs of very showy and powerful show species" for $15 a piece. My juvies are $6 but smaller than his juvies listed as 1.5" for $7.50.

Thanks bro, I really appreciate that.

There are some bored individuals out there.

np.!! i also couldn't find anything of any sort of factual way of telling the difference. except when a FH is adult size, then differences are very noticeable. all i can do is try to learn with others. i've looked at tons of pics trying to determine noticeable differences.
