Trimac male update (load warning)

are female trimacs just as aggressive and good wet pets as the males or do males have the better personality in termes of aggression and attitude?

Im pretty sure ALL males have better personalities. Actually a Trimac would be great for you!

They are very aggressive though.

Yes. And I am increasingly worried about her well being. It seems all he is interested in doing is keep on biting her. At the moment she has a few hiding spots, but I don't want this to continue for a longer period.

If being aggressive (head banging) is your primary criteria in selecting a wet pet, I think there are others in amphilophus that might be a sure bet than Trimacs. These are a hit or a miss, depending on individual fish.

With that said, my personal experience has been, that my trimac has shown more aggression towards humans than the female.

I had it earlier, but since the tank is now in the living room, I don't have a "go ahead" from the wife to change anything in tank w.r.t. is asthetics :) I know, she is quite thick and beefy as well.
