Please identify my fish. They are 6" to 7". They have longer bodies rather than broader. And get very dark stripes all over the bodies when they are angry or mating. Upper parts of the bodies are more skinny too. I think they are trimacs. I'm not sure though.
Sorry for the low quality images.

I feel like a broken record, stating this over and over. You cannot visually tell the genetics of a fish. If you do not know the history and lineage of a fish assume it's a flowerhorn. Call them whatever you want but don't breed them or sell them as trimacs - because you don't know.

in that case Your fish is not a Midas either then. It's a FH.

I say Trimac because it looks like one. Pure breed or not within them I can not be 100% sure. But you see mostly Trimac so what the hell else is there to call it?

If it's a hybrid, it's still not a FH!

I know the history and lineage of my A. citrinellus - it came from Jeff Rapp's wild breeding pair so I can trace it back to Lago Nicaragua. Vastly different than "hey, I've got some unknown fish". I'm also going off the assumption that it's much easier to find a hybrid in Srilanka due to the relatively close proximity of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, which are a hub of hybrid activity.
