I'm new to MFK. I've recently purchased a 2" Trimac. At least that's what the sign said. Judging from all the pics on the internet it's a young male or a very low grade FH. So, I'll go with Trimac for now. Very cool fish at it's small size it's one tough SOB. He is currently housed in a 110 with a 4" male Con and a 4" GT. The GT is the tank wipping boy (Big Disapointment). OK enough BS, Here's my question. Could I put a midas in that tank? All opinions would be appreciated.

whether it is pure or just FH depends on the source of the fish. I wouldn't add a midas, considering adult sizes and temperament

I have mine with a midas and a few other fish. It does ok for now, but I probably wouldn't add a midas.

Since its a 110 gallon, at the current tank size, adding a midas won't work long term - unless its a female, and you have a divider. They will start producing tremendous amount of waste as they grow (and they do grow really fast), and cleaning woulf be a major PITA. Added to that aggression will be too much.

If you have bigger tank on the other hand, it might.

Long term is there anything that could go with it or should it go solo. I have other tanks so the Convict and GT can be placed elsewhere. The Trimac is growing fast. I feed him Hikari Discus Bio-Gold, Omega One freeze dried mysis shrimp, Brine shrimp & Blood worms with an occasional pea or two. He doesn't like beefheart. The GT loves the beefheart when he comes out from under his rock. The convict chases the GT all over the tank but puts the breaks on if he comes face to face with the Trimac.

Sounds like you tried it before, what happened?

will do fine, untill it hits about 4-6 inches then it will kill evreything in sight trustttt mee!!

Really, you don't think it could be the individual temperament of the fish? My 10" trimac has yet to kill a single fish since I got it at 5.5".

What are the tank dimensions? I know where you're coming from, at only 2", the tank seems empty. In 6 months or so, it's going to be a different story. Trimacs grow pretty fast. And btw, where did you get the Trimac? If not a Trimac breeder, I'd say 99% chance it's a low grade FH.
