"TRIMAC" tribute

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My Old Beast of a Wild Female, 8" or so. The last few were her in breeding dress when she was like 4" and extra frisky. She flaunted her stuff for months with my Zo.

thanks for sharing.. Trimac was my 3rd fish when I first started cichlid keeping.

This is MBTjake's Trimac.

I've been wanting fry from this stud for a long time and finally got some. Im Lucky to have fry from a stud I admire so much.

Its crazy how fast Trimacs grow! In about 6 weeks, you went from wrigglers to what look like 1.5in fish. In mid March I bought a small group of Lyonsi & Trimacs at 1in from Rapps looking for a really nice male of each. My trimac is now close to 7in & thick, Lyonsi is 3.5-4. Trimac growth speed is twice that of Lyonsi.

yeah You are right the one on the right is exactly right on 1.5".

They can eat a lot.. The one on the right can eat so much that his stomach gets huge and Im afraid to feed that guy too much Im afriad his intestine might explode.

When my Trimac was around 1.5in, I was only feeding flake & FD bloodworms. I tried NLS but he wouldn't take it & now that he is larger he still wont take it - I have a hard time getting fish to accept NLS, it must taste like hell. I'm now feeding pellets as a staple, with FD blackworms, mealworms & krill as treats. They can really pack it in too! I love the gulping actions they do for floating food - looks like a bass!
