Trimac vs Midas

Neither. They are like aquatic buzz saws, chewing up and spitting out any other fish that gets in their way. That includes females of their own species.
Some folks have luck keeping them in very large species tanks in all male groups but that can still potentially go sideways. They are best kept as single specimen wet pets if you don't intend to breed IMO. They are highly intelligent and interactive. That personality makes for a really fun wet pet.
Midas. There are more color options, they seem to be less aggressive at feeding time which is when my Trimacs would do serious damage, and I like the shape a little better: they also seem to be less pisciverous, so I have decent luck keeping them with a few smaller tank mates.
...... I have both I like both.... Depends I what day you ask me on which I like the most.... Currently I would have to Say I give the edge to my Trimacs...
I have 2 male Trimac with 1 side-by-side in separate tanks with the midas ,both are very interactive but the Trimac is more so .... He goes a little bit more crazy when he sees me with food than the Midas...
