Triming fins

Seen it done on Discus many times, and each time the fishes fins grew back in perfect order. I've never tried it, but I would give it a shot on a fish where bacterial infection has destroyed parts of their fins, and it was hindering their behavior. Like they had trouble swimming or something. I wouldn't do it to make the fish look better to me if it had no problems with the ragged fins.
