Triops for food?

Anyone tried using triops for food? they are those little "grow it yourself" buddies that come in a box. tried growing some out of curiousity. got to about an inch in a few weeks time. then fed them to my buttekoferi. at 3 inches he loves them.

The question that comes to my mind is.............WHY????

You spend so much time growing them, why feed them to your fish???

more or less just to satisfy the butto crustacean diet. not something i do normally. but when i saw the box i was curious to see if these prehistoric triops would really grow. and they did. the box says the life span of the creatures was 20 to 90 days. so i decided to see if the butto would eat them.
