Maybe as treats for variety.

yea maybe every now and again i may grow some as a treat, but not as a primary part of his diet. i read that in the wild crustaceans are part of the buttos diet so i gave it a shot.

:shakehead takes up too much time and effort

i didnt find them to be too much trouble. i just didnt like crushing up there food for them when they were tiny. funny, at first i didnt think they hatched because they were so small.
i do think though that if i were to maintain them as a regular food source it would take alot of time and effort.

The question that comes to my mind is.............WHY????

You spend so much time growing them, why feed them to your fish???
bingo!!

They are sometimes called tadpole shrimp and are from temporary waters in desert areas. Like brine shrimp you get them as dried eggs. Some get to 3" and to me they look like a mix between a horseshoe crab and a trilobite.
