I just got some triops and im gonna hatch them in a 8x6x4 inch containor. So can you answer these questions for me
1 Do i really need spring water?
2 How can i get them to live longer?
3 Do they like gravel/sand?
4 Do they need a filter?
5 Should i have it completely full when there maby 5 days old?
6 How do u breed them?
7 How long do the new eggs from the triops i bred need to be dried out before soaking them?
8 How high should the water be when i hatch them?
9 Did all those Q's get on your nerve
 
Hmm... I can only answer 9... and yes. :grinno: I think those kits you get with the baby frogs and triop sets are awesome. After seeing planet of the apes I wanted a "Sea Monkey" army. Needless to say i have thousands of soldiers kept in my freezer. :D
 
OK well at least i kno the answer to 9. and i havent had them forever and i saw today and i remembered the ones i had a long time ago and i had to get them!!
 
triops are cool but i decided to try to let mine meet my artemia( brine shrimp and sea monkies) army... bad idea they dont like salt lol.

my army is constanly fighting the hoard of baby snapper i keep... its not going well... snapper dont take P.O.W's they just eat them.:screwy:
 
I just added the eggs to the water.i have a half gallon of water in the containor and the conditioner packet. im gonna add a airstone when theyre older. Please answer the questions above.
 
no I just did it with well water in bowl, no filter room temp
They are cool already 1/2 inch they look like horseshoe crabs shape but you can see all their organs their neat

2 How can i get them to live longer? they dont its thier normal life cycle,2-3months approx
3 Do they like gravel/sand? use sand if you want to breed them
4 Do they need a filter? triops sometimes can live in oxygen depleted water sometimes on mud
5 Should i have it completely full when there maby 5 days old? triops double its size daily
6 How do u breed them? use sand,after eggs being layed take out the sand with the eggs and sundry them,the eggs wont hatch till they dry (this is thier normal life cycle)then put spring water again
7 How long do the new eggs from the triops i bred need to be dried out before soaking them? as long as they are dried,make it 3days
8 How high should the water be when i hatch them? am not sure :D
9 Did all those Q's get on your nerve
