Yes, great shop...it's no wonder that it always wins or comes runner up in the pfk shop of the year.

Agreed and the fact they sell reptiles is a bonus for me
Thanks!

i love the vast reptile section, they have just about everything i could want to see including an crocodile lol. but the ray section is the largest i know of thats on display so its great just to look at but i cant help but want to buy at least one of them but even browsing your made to feel welcome ( unlike some other more local shops ive visited ) i wasnt aware they had won awards but it doesnt suprise me :)
Thanks Gaz.
Everyone's welcome but no one more than you, thanks for the kind words my friend.Your little daughter looked to have enjoyed it which is always nice, these kids are the future of our wonderful hobby, looks like you have trained her well..ha ha!!

You are right about being made to feel welcome, I once spent an afternoon up there and Snowy showed me how he was building tanks and we had a coffee together and I saw behind the scenes and at the time they were building a new Marine section and he took me in to see the work being done too.

I think they built all the tanks on site too.

There are always lots of oddballs there and even the cold water section has a nice indoor pond.

Reptiles looked good too and the croc was a wee baby when I first saw him, now an impressive beast.

I think the difference is that they are all enthusiasts and have deep knowledge in their sections.

Am I a fan boy? YES, but Richard bred my Marble Motoro and I have been a stong advocate of his quality fishkeeping all along.

You have it spot on Toby. The shop is run by hobbyists "for" hobbyists, thats what makes the place special i think, people come to browse and chat for hours because they feel comfortable....its nice for them and nice atmosphere to work in.
Thanks to you also Toby for your kind words and vote of confidence in me,the feeling is mutual i can assure you.

im sure there are holding tanks but the pictures i took (and my daughter) were of fish that were on public display in the tanks in the ray section. guess its just whats available at the time but there were lots in when i went just recently. the flower was lovley . the henlei i saw both myself eating ravenously and was lovley to see. i think anyone would love them if they saw them in person. the ADULT hystirx caught my eye though. very cheap i thought, especialy for a ray thats not been available for the last 6? years !

We been today great half a day out missed the man himself Richard but the rest of the staff where very welcoming .. I must say the adult hystric very nearly came home with me lol . Are mane reason for the visit was to see the henli rays very nice I always thought they where darker though . Anyway to say it's my wedding anniversary today and we choice to go to wharf aquatics lol .

Congrats! Funnily enough my wife an I always make an effort for our birthdays and one year she took me on a shop tour including wharf and we stayed in a local hotel and went back the next day...whilst visiting other shops.

Me personally,I don't like going to wharf.

Because I always spend too much money!!!
Seriously though, the best place I've been and will continue to go to,cheers Richard and the gang.
After a recent visit to wildwoods, which I was disgusted at what I saw it showed me how much better the team at wharf are!
Absolutely miles better!
Keep up the good work and we will see you very soon.

Steve

amazing shop, was there before christmas talking to Richard a great enthusiast.wide variety of oddballs and big cats, the most healthy fish i,ve seen in a shop.would have taken at least 12 different species if i could have got them back to ireland.the nearly 4 foot heterabranchus bidorsalis was just amazing.
they need to open a shop in ireland
