I just bought a wild caught colony of 11, and was looking for some info. I know a decent amount about these fish, but I figure theres info out there I don't know or something someones found out that might be helpful. Does anyone here keep duboisi? Also they are a herbivorous cichlid, eating mainly spirulina... Anyone know of a really good spirulina, or duboisi diet?

Ill get pictures up soon, they are just settling in, and my gf has my dslr.

They like to graze on algae too. In the wild it is an important part of their diet.

You will find all the info you need at cichlid-forum.com and trophs.com

there's tons of herbivorous cichlid preparations out there, check your LFS

if you want to vary their diet you can offer the sheet algae that's sold for marine herbivores, or hit up the asian market and give them Nori, basically the same thing as the marine algae sheets for a fraction of the price.

Perhaps following through with adding the pictures before criticizing for lack of comments

Please inform me how pictures have ANYTHING to do with how to care for and feed duboisi. Thanks, I'll get the pics when I'm good and ready.

You expect others to comment on your thread about your questions. You said you would post pictures. When you did not, most people think the thread is dead and the op is not checking. Post pictures whenever you want, but don't be crictical of others when you have not followed up with the thread yourself. I was waiting for you to post pictures to be sure you were coming back to read the thread before I answered. So that is how pictures have anything to do with it.

I feed all my Tropheus NLS 1mm cichlid. I also let the algea grow out on my rocks. I also feed pleco veggie disks.
