Tropheus sp. Ikola

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dunno yet, gonna get em in a growout tank, soon as the stinkin holding female sits still I will get a darn shot. I could watch this tank for hours...I found tonight that they are a colony of a guy that lives in town and are "supposed" to be F1.

They beat the crap out of each other in the small tank they were in at the store, should I dose them with melafix?

Use salt and do water changes, I don't like using melafix. It's up to you though.

I have always noticed that it clouds the water, but it has always been like a miracle drug for me, Ill go add some aquarium salt here in a few.

I didnt add any chems, Just added salt. They are colored up more today.

I actually think they are not Ikola, I think they may have been labeled wrong. I think they are Kiriza, also known as Kaiser II. You guys be the judge. They are still getting more color, so hopefully in a few weeks they will be showing full color.

Lots of pics, sorry

You know what, thinking of it, I believe that yours are infact the Kiriza. Still, they are beauts. Some are coloring up very nicely.

You may have a mix colony of Ikolas and Kiriza.. but 25 for 200 at that size is not bad...

You may want to moved them to a larger tank real soon. A 6 footer would be wonderful.

James
Did they spawn? They are looking good.
I would see if I could find the breeder to be sure what you have exactly.
If they are F1's it should not be hard to find out. I get 1st spawn. lol
