tropheus species tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would think 55 is too small.

I have a group of wc tropheus moorii lufubu in a 90 and they are doing really well. the odd thing is that there are only 8 in the colony. 2 males. there is breeding, and the normal chasing around... but everything is fine.

The previous owner of this colony started off with 30+ though...and slowly sold them off and ended up with a stable small group.

If I had any more than the 8 now, I would definitely consider a larger footprint tank than the 90... probably a 6 footer (125 or 180 gallon)

I agree that you will need a bigger tank. The 55gal is good to growout some juvies. You can get away with 10-15 juvies in the 1.5"-2" range for now. I personally like the Moorii or sp. Black trophs. Good luck and looking forward to some pics....:grinno:
