They do limit stocking options. They don't seem to understand the complexities and idea behind keeping a rare colorless cichlid. The bright side to that is you do not find yourself having trouble which tropheus you want because there is too much variety!

I have multiple colonies. In a 4' 75 gallon tank you can have anywhere from 20-40 Trophs. In a 6' tank you can have very large numbers.

You have to be out of your mind to mix tropheus or keep that many long term in a 75. A 75 can be done but NEVER more than 20 in a 75. I would never mix Tropheus because of the risk of cross breeding. Tropheus are best kept in species only tanks.

LOL, Just try and make sure you get all males. If you can make sure whoever sells you some vents them before they are sold to you. Many people say you can reliably sex the two by mouth stucture but venting is the only way to tell on sexually dimorphic species. Plus venting trophs is EASY as long as you have a jewelers loup http://www.fishhead.com/articles/ventsex.htm

I never said anywhere about mixing Trophs. I said I have multiple colonies......each in 75 gallon tanks, not together.

Also I have over 60 right now in a 75 that I just imported and I have no losses.
I don't necessarily recommend it for people, but if your experienced you can do it.

I'm sure Mike has it all covered. A 120G should ba great for the colony he is setting up. He's been planning this setup for a long time.

I have been planning this for a long, long time... However I have choosen the types I want because the types avalible differ.... oh well... time will tell... I have had the tank open up on the system for a bit of time... I have had this setup planed for well over a year...
