Without having the exact dimensions, please correct on that and I might change my statements below....but....

If I estimate correctly, its going to be way to small for Arapaima. Looks like an L-shaped pond, wrapping around the house.
As said by the OP, the window is 2.5meters, so the total length of that wall looks to be 4.5 meters long.
The short side of the L is around the corner, so that should be around 3 meters long with the depth of the pond around 50 cm.

The pond seems to be on a balcony/terrace. Hope that it's structurally sound.

But apart from that, this pond is way way too small for an arapaima. Even the RTC's might have trouble.
Not sure about cover or sides of the pond, but I see his Pima's jump one day and land outside the pond 1 floor down.

Have a look at the pond I have for my Arapaima. It's 10 x 5.5~6 meters. When I found him, he was 90cm, and 12 months later, he's now 150cm long...and...about 40cm high!!!
With your pond, he'd be scraping the bottom continuously.
He is eating like crazy and growing like a madman. You really won't do yourself or the fish any favors with a small pond like this...

Yes for the Arowana, Peacock, Oscar, but make sure you cover the pond with a net or have high glass/acrylic around the pond to keep them in.
Definite NO for the RTC and Arapaima...

Sorry to sound so harsh, I just think you underestimate the Arapaima. Hope you understand this is well meant advise.
He will have trouble turning around, let alone the depth of the pond causing him to scrape the bottom continuously.

Kind regards,
Luc

Its a big pond.... But doesnt look big enough for an arapaima... How about some aros?

@monsterpond:you live in indonesia?are you an indonesian too ?how many rupiah it cost to build a pond like that?

Hello,

The pond is about 6250 liter and water depth is 53 cm. I know this is way to small for arapiamas and rtc's, but for the size they are now its ok. When they are bigger i will put them in a big pond. The temperature here on Bali is always around 29 degrees Celsius all year round day and night. I also bought two small stingrays, 2 small pacus and a group of silver dollars.

@nono : I am from the Netherlands but i live on Bali. I paid 10 juta (around 1000 usd) for the pond including pumps and filter. I probably paid too much because i am a foreigner but it is still cheap.

@luc70: I have always kept my arowanas in a pond without walls around it and they never jumped out. I know its risky but till now no fish jumped out. When they are happy why should the jump out ;) The pond is on the first floor, but i discussed it with the architect who build the house and he said it is no problem.

The water of the pond is still green even if a continuously refresh water. The growth of the algae is to strong in direct sunlight. So i added some plants to give some shade and get nutrition out of the water. Lets see how it works out. Every week I vacuum clean the bottom. I feed my fish shrimps, blood worms, crickets dead fish and sometimes goldfish.

here are some pictures and a video:

Absolutely, beautiful pond...glad you are aware of the future outgrowing of fish. For the jumping, yes, it's risky and i think that's where it's a personal decision.
The bigger pond in a later stage, will that be your own pond as well? Or? You will sure need to prepare for that in the coming months.

What do you feed them?
And, you have some pictures of the filter?

Surprised to see you're from Holland. Me too...lol...been in Asia since '98 and settled in Thailand since 2004. Simply the best place to keep fish and enjoy them.

Good work on the pond build, love it.
Cheers,
Luc

Damn!!! Nice pond mate. How much does acrylic set you back over there? By the soiunds of it pretty cheap if it only cost you $1000US to build!!!

To have more filtration, consider building a brick wall (loose stacked) in the short leg of the l-shaped pond. Put a PVC pipe with many holes drilled on the bottom and fill up with pebbles, plant it with umbrella and other plants, no pots, free in the stones.
Then pump water from the left of the pond through the PVC pipe and you will have a nice bog with enough filter and water polishing capacity to clean out the algae...

For comparison, I have about 8 square meter of 50cm deep water as bogs to keep 50k liter of water crystal clear..

Cheers,
Luc
