Tropical Fish Store Near West Suburbs of Chicago

New to the site, and hoping to get a big tank soon, but in the meantime trying to find some places where I can find some interesting freshwater fish. My primary interest is in some of the larger predatory species of South America.

Back in the day I used to go to Scott's Pet Shop, but I hear they closed and I now live in the Fox Valley. Any suggestions?

Aquatic Visions in Naperville no longer carries any freshwater to speak of. Aquarium Adventure in Bolingbrook is pretty decent. Also Tom at Aquascape Chicago has some nice fish and is always getting in some new ones all the time. I would say get in touch with him out of all those. If your up for a drive there are other places.
 
You might want to check out gcca.net, and it's classifieds.
The Greater Chicago Cichlid Assn. holds auctions swap meets and meetings, all are a great place to pick up interesting fish and get expert info.
 
The next gcca swap is 11/11, reven if you dont find what you want fish wise you fan still get great deals on food, driftwood, and other supplies. If you dont mind heading south a little Animal Island in Midlothian is a great shop.

Check for local organizations in you area. GCCA is Chicago based. You would have to have something similar down there. Can't think of his name on here but he lives down in Florida and would probably know. I will pm you when I think of it.
