Yes.. yes they are but our lil' one is getting ill from the humidity issues we're having and the cost of upkeep is draining the bank account.. its a no-win any way we cut it. But hopefully i'll have a build thread in a few years of something permanent and enclosed to avoid the mistakes we made this time around. Wish we could have put more money into the set-up and these fish because they really are even nicer in person. The TSN and Trops would readily hand feed if I wasn't afraid of losing fingers. I'll see if I can't get a perspective pic to show just how big these guys really are... tbh not sure how we're even going to catch everyone.

So your PONDS humidity is actually causing medical issues?

the humidity is causing mold growth along our window seals and its making our 12 week old and myself sick, constant sinus issues.. our 2 yr old seems fine but wouldn't surpirze me if its bothering her either. atm we've got the pool tarped and it seems to be helping.

isnt there a solution for this

There is but it costs the price of a dehumidifier. Mine ran me $400 at home depo.
I run a dehumidifier in my fish room with around 3000 gallons of fish and no heaters. The temp stays between 75 and 80 degrees. The humidity runs between 35%-45% most of the time. It heats the room and keeps the humidity down way below property damaging levels. I also have around 1k that is not covered with lids. I dump it 3 times a day...
Just food for thought, I hate to see you get rid of your prized fish, or get your family sick when it could be prevented.
Good luck with whatever you decide. To bad your not closer you are almost giving away those fish at that size and price...

we have 2 dehumidifiers already in the basement one right next to the pool and one across to the other side of the basement. ATM the tarp is really improving the humidity issues and I already feel better. So if we don't find a suitable home for them we may try and bite the bullet a little bit longer until we can put in something more permanent that we can close off. the hard part w/ the pool is their is no way to really seal it.. so the whole area its in needs to be done. building a more permanent structure we'de be able to use a spa cover ect and make something more efficient to not just keep humidity in check but temp ect.

But if I can find them a good home I'm going to bite that bullet and rework the set-up.

Are you dumping your dehumidifiers manually or do you have a hose going to a drain? I used to have mine hosed to a drain. Then I started dumping it manually and relocated it to the middle of the room instead of in a corner. It immediately started working twice as good with the humidity and the temp in the room. If you do use a drain just make sure the hose is as short as you can make it and there is no loops or uphill to the drain. Also changing the placement in the room might help them run more efficient by circulating the air in the room better.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Glad your feeling better.

we actually have one set w/ a ose the other manually.. lol..

And Gar are PENDING...

Catfish Free to a good home ( Yes I'm going to ask to see pics ect of your set-up, and ask questions. I care about my fish but know their "worth")
