sounds good so far everyone, as i said, we will keep you posted as things progress. please continue to post if you are interested in these great fish! i am sure others who have kept them (or are currently keeping them) can attest to them being great specimens--

yes! they will get along just fine with other species of gars. some people keep them on their own in species tanks, which works well; i have always kept them with other gars (and several other fishes) and that has worked very well too--

FYI....I keep my Tropicals with other gar species, dats, polypterus, black aro and assorted catfish. As long as the fish doesn't fit in its mouth, the tropicals leave them alone.
we will keep everyone posted as to the progress of the order. as of this time we are still working on the importation and will know more once that is organized. getting an idea of the potential number of buyers helps quite a bit, so we appreciate your responses and interest.
and yes, only the 4-5" size range will be available. keep in mind these fish can reach 10-11" pretty quickly, but grow more slowly from that point to about 14-16" and seem to plateau for a while (much more gradual growth) from that point onward. generalized size/growth of course--

I can attest to their growth slowing dramatically. My trops seem to have all but stopped growing at 18". My FL gars were smaller than the trops and have outpaced the trops in growth.
