Tropical gars

when i just started out, i had a gar go like that because the tank had no filtration. what are the water parameters?
 
i dunno.. they look more like regular spotted to me.. tropical are very dark, with almost no white on their body...

The gar with a broken back looks familiar. I gave it to a friend that may have given it away, could be this one :popcorn:

:iagree: Looks like the one Bryant gave me and I gave it to someone else FOR FREE. If it is, shame on you for trying to sell it to him...
 
regarding the original question...those are Florida gars, not tropicals. so if the species is important to you (as well as health of the fish apparently), i would skip the purchase--
