tropical lake

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would put native fish in there. I know everyone is trying to give you ideas, but I cant see this ever happening. Do you know how much filter a pond of this magnitude would need? I am assuming there are resident waterfowl there correct? Well if everyone is willing to put up the cash, then my hats off to you. I am sure this would probably be the WORLDS largest outdoor tropical pond.

thanks for the responses.
we decided to make the new lake into a native..again.
i wanted something other than bass, sunfish, catfish.
so i said stergeon and owner said that he can get ahold of a few from a local lake.

and he decided to get a small tropical "pond" probably indoors. i got him a little pumped up.. how do I heat small ponds?
even with all the money he currently has and the money he will be making...heating a lake would cost more than the profit...not good.
thanks guys!

one more thing though..in order for a troipical lake that houses monsters to be "clear" i would have needed a filter right?

haha, o.k. will post pictures once the new lake is ready.
i was also thinking trout, but then in my other post i got alot of information that they need ALOT of oxygen and cold moving water..

here's the current native list that are gonna get dumped.
largemouth/smallmouth/spotted bass. bluegill pumpkinseed/redear/green sunfish black/white crappie channel catfish and a sturgeon(not sure what kind)

30, 1~4" minnows of each species. and 20 adults of each species(except for the channel catfish and sturgeon) and 5 "trophy" class fish.(except for the bass, catfish, and sturgeon)

also all the fish currently living in echo lake will be moved to the new lake safely with students from local colleges and high schools.

i can get pictures of echo lake if you want.
