Nice spilotes, the ones I've seen for sale have generally been WC adults in pretty rough shape. Hopefully you get some good eggs next time.
my turtles lay non fertile eggs all the time. im still not sure if the ones i have now are fertile...?
Nice spilotes. I had a trio for a while before my male died (he was w/c and probably old). I ended up selling the two females to a guy locally who had a breeding project going. I just notice a lot of spilotes with infertile eggs. I wonder why these guys throw out so many infertile eggs. I wonder if it is diet or lighting or something else. I really am looking at getting another pair, they were one of my favorite snakes to keep.
I agree. I'm definitely one of the people it comes naturally to. Just yesterday I was told at a lrs that the 5-6 ft retic was a real biter, and there had not been a single person who had handled him without incident. I said I would take the risk, and I gently slid my hands under it in it's water bowl, supporting all of it's body, and picked it up, allowing it to uncoil and decide for itself where to put it's coils. I held it for a good 10 minutes without so much as the snake forming an "s" shape with it's neck.thesnakeguy;4296692; said:
