Agreed. I bet salinity swings have also going on.

Not starting an argument but fresh water fish are not ideal foods for marine preds, they are to high in fat, like Fleashy I recomend weening him off them as soon as possible, and under no cercomstances use guppies as a feeder. Fresh water fish diets can cause fatty liver disease in marine fish and significantly shorten the life of your fish.

Your best bet for weening is to feed one or two live, then take some dead ones and put them on a feeding stick and wiggle them infront of the fish. Do this every feeding until he readialy takes the dead ones, then start only giving dead ones. Once he takes only dead ones start putting a differnt food on the stick with your dead truffies, such as shrimp or pred pelets etc. untill he starts taking those readily. Then eventualy you can ween him off the feeder stick in the same way so you will be able to just drop the food in to make feeding easier. It's also best to feed him at the same time every day you feed him, the idea is to train him that at a certain time food will come and when he sees the feeder stick (untill you stop using it) its part of the visual cue that food is coming.

I know fresh water fish aren't the best diet but she wasn't eating at all before. I'm just happy she is eating something regularly at the moment. She took frozen saltwater fish before but she would eat maybe once a week and putting it on a stick in front of her just stressed her out. I can try again though, I'm not going to keep her on tuffies for long. Thank you, that sounds like a good way to get her back on better foods.

Also, I changed it from "him" to "her" since she just laid eggs.....They might be infertile but there is a good chance that she was a wild caught. So if they are fertile is there anything that I should do? I have no experience with raising fish eggs.

I tried a search and the only information I could find was that stonefish have not been bred in captivity. And that the fish will die shortly after spawning. I doubt I will have any luck getting fry but in case should I leave the eggs with the mother or separate them?

I should have separated them. She ate/crushed most of them, I started with 50 and now I have maybe 10. I blocked the few remaining ones off from her and I'll see what happens.

Sorry for the delay, chances are they are infurtile, and the fact she was "pregnant" is likely part of the reason she wasn't feeding. Chances are they are infurtile, and if you don't have the setup ready even if they are furtile they will die as raising fry of most marine fish is nigh impossible, as they all have very specific needs when it comes to food types/sizes/nutrient composition. But if you want to try have a look at http://www.marinebreeder.org they are your best source for breeding info.
