Trouble getting juvi's to eat.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea i'd feed them frozen bloodworms or guppy feeders. And my pbass love earthworms, i buy them from the bait shop and break them into smaller pieces for my 2 lil pbass, but my 6 inch one eats them whole and loves them.

ok thanks...ive fed off most of my guppy fry (i only had a little) and as soon as they hit the water the bass get them in seconds not so much with adult guppies but their prob too big

Hi guys new too MFK but read this thread and I was having the same issues with my 2.5 inch Peacock bass they love live black worms and the accasional feeder. Persistance is key I think they are worth it!

another great food for fish is frozen liver , buy beef liver at the local grocery store cut it up into small cubes , about the size of a dime , even smaller if possible freeze the cubes and drop them in the tank , its almost like feeding them beefheart it helps them grow quick , and once they get some size to them they will take the pellets better.

Fatten them up with feeders and bloodworms until they're about 5-7 inch. Then convert using the tips in the sticky " converting off live foods". Mine are still picky at 6 inches. They only eat rosies, gold fish, and frozen bloodworm. Patience is key. :D

and now his once sunken stomach is a beer gut haha

See, they're tougher than they look. Haha. I love it when my little one gets a hold of a goldfish half it's size. He wants it so bad and a minute later gives up and spits it out.
