if you could get it cold enough and well oxigenated you don't need as much current. trout do well in lakes with no current, current comes into play for spawning. i personally would go with brookies not for size, agresstion, or anything like that, they are the best looking trout!!! imo also they are the best tasting....but i wouldn't eat my pet. over all i say it would work. the colder the better. if you did go with browns they can tolorate warmer water.
