might need to get another truck and put the sports car off for now, still gonna do that later unless I change my mind, but as the title says, what would you get. I love the Tacomas but man they always have 150,000 plus miles on them for that range, frontiers seem too small, Im going nuts. Small v8 might be fine, but my old lifted Dodge with a 318 got like 11 mpg that killed me.

just give me some more ideas, Ie searched all the cars.com and auto trader, looked at county dealers a bit.

Anyways, ideas?

v6 or small v8, 4x4, ext cab or 4 door, under 14,000.

I'd say Dodge Ram hemi, if you find one that cheap. Should get close to 20mpg
looked at some after reading your post, seems biggest complaint is the gas, wonder if they actually get around 20 ever lol. Thanks though, will keep them in mind, love the titans but seems they suck it down too, I read even the tundras are gassers, hell I dont know its drivin me nuts.

The Dodge Ram with the 4.7 V8 only gets about 15MPG but the Hemi does better

The difference between v6 & v8 is usually around 3mpg so you might as well get the v8. The biggest gain you'll experience is going newer. I was looking into trucks a while back and never read an article that didn't rate the titan as the worst full sized truck out there. Personally I'd stick with a gm or ford, there's a reason you see tons of 15-20 year old models still used as daily drivers.

I ran around the dealers today and they seem to all agree the 5.3 chevys get the best miles, and like you say, tons of them every place I look on the road. I like the fords too but I hear the horror stories of the f150s and the spark plug issues. THe guy at my work even went though it, cost him lots of time and money twice in 2 years.

im thinking i need a truck next, seeing my dog pack is growing and i need the space, we dont have the selection you guys have tho. trucks are pretty uncommon here only really see jap stuff, few fords and thats bout it... wide selection of suv and 4x4's tho... If i had your gas prices id be all-over a big v8 in a sec but with uk fuel prices i think im going end up with a freaking diesel tug boat... about the best thing i could get is a some kinda toyota or a mitzi warrior l200.... if not im looking for a bmw x5, vw toureg or nice a landrover... living in uk sucks!
