Growing up we always had Ford trucks and they ran great. We had a few Chevy trucks but those are the ones that gave us issues....
:p

first 97 dodge ram 1500 5.9l magnum loved it. stock it would shred tires and hual ***
2nd dodge ram 2500 turbo cummins diesel with cold air intake, super chips tuner, 300 hp injectors and 5 in exhuast from the turbo :) i cant do anythin else to it without replacing the tans :(
i love this truck even more than the last. i have beat corvetts in it and blown idk how many rice rockets away.
the only prob dodge has is the trans. and i will openly admit that.

MOPAR My Old Pig Aint Runnin

I own a Dodge, I have had Ford / Chevy / Dodge / Nissan / Toyota / Isuzu / Mazda (Ford).

Next purchase will be a Nissan / Toyota, never again will I buy a GM / Chrysler. If they took TARP / Bailout money they wont get mine either.
I have several friends with new / newer Ford trucks and most need worked on more than I think they should.

I grew up in a country town, don't know how many times the ford got stuck and the Chevy had to pull her out...sadly, the chevy would always break down before she even got to the field so we just learned how to keep the ford from getting stuck ;)

What truck do you have and why do you think it's the best? What trucks have you had in the past that you liked or didn't like?

2007 GMC Sierra, long bed, crew cab, Duramax diesel.

Had a '97 Chevy Cheyenne that I really liked until we got a new boat. New boat was much heavier than our previous boat, and the truck would jerk at take off. Dealership said there was just a little looseness in the rear end, whatever that meant. We have a heavy beast of a boat. I sold the truck and bought a 2007 Silverado 2500. Just liked the looks of the truck. Didn't even test drive any other trucks. (It was 2007 truck of the year). Truck has more bells and whistles than my car. It's also color coordinated with my boat :) :)

Oh, yeah, the first time we towed the boat with the 2007 Silverado, the truck jerked:( Turns out the jerking is a special braking mechanism on the boat trailer--it's supposed to jerk to release it. :) Thanks to the jerking, I got a pretty new truck... It's a prima donna truck whose sole function is to tow the boat to the lake. (No work details, or garbage runs to the dump). We've had the truck three years, and the On Star report for December said we have 5,387 miles on it.

We did not want diesel, even though the salesmen swore that a diesel truck would not belch black smoke on my boat. I like that it's a crewcab. Being short, I always sat in the back of the '97 extended cab, and was the last person out of the truck. Now I always sit in in the front, and with dual climate control, I can have the heater going on my side, while the air conditioning is going on the other side. The big tow package makes for effortless towing.

I have learned that black boats and trucks don't do well when it comes to water spots and dust/dirt. Next time, if there is a next time, I'm going white or tan. :) :) :)

1992 Chevy S10, 4.3L, Manual, regular cab, short bed, 250,000+ miles, rusty and it runs great!

I'm a Mopar man myself, currently drive a '01 Ram 1500...with a ****ty transmission. Governor pressure sensor and sensor switch need to be replaced...and the damn dash is falling apart... apparently its a problem with '01 Chrysler vehicles.

I've been looking into a used 3/4 ton to start a business when I move back out to California, and will probably end up with a Ford due to price and availability. Although, if I can find something with the 5.9L Cummins for a decent price...I'll take it!

I may be a Chevy guy, but I have found that Fords seem to be the most common truck around and there are infinite parts available. I also just bought a 1990 f150 I6 Lariat from the impound lot I work at. I got it because we have two other identical trucks at the lot and I need practice with a 5 speed. :D
