I am not very good with cars and fixing them up. But I am turning 16 in about 10 months and me and my dad were talking about buying an older truck and fixing it up. I was on autotrader.com and saw a 86 Silverado for sale that was $750. Now for my question can I put a lift on a 2wd? or does it have to be 4wd?

Thanks
Mike

Yeah, either way, it can be done. There seems to be a new trend in lifting 2wd trucks. there are lots of new products on the market for 2wd.

The only question you have to ask yourself is do you want it to be functional or just for looks. If you want to just look tough you can have a 2wd lift, just take the 2wd sticker off the back so people don't laugh at you.

Slam that mother to the ground! Bags, body drop, drop it and spark it. you got a better chance of getting some classy girls in a lowered truck than a lifted

I want to lift the truck for looks and I was just asking if it was going to work for the 2wd because it was the only truck I found in the same year and model I wanted.

jsodwi- A '86 Sliverado would look dumb lowered. Just my oppinion.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
Mike

A lot of people are making trucks prerunner style, so there are a lot of lifts for 2wd
If it's not a prerunner style truck, a lifted 2wd looks silly IMO.
