ok so a lot of green algae is growing on my plants and tile and was wondering what fish are truely algae eaters. i know common plecs dont do a good job so yeah, whats out there??

for sure someone is about to say "dont be lazy scrub the glass "
anyways some people prefer the bushy nose pleco and some like the siamese algae eater .... some people swear by the prohilodus ... its kind of hit and miss though ... do a search ....

what type of lights are you using and how long are they on?

Only get an algae eating fish if you like the look of plecos, garras and the like. Please don't get them just to eat algae.
However, to answer your question we need some very basic info first:

Tank size?
Ph level?
Temperature?
Tankmates?
Planted heavily or not?
If planted with highly edible plants such as Elodia Densa and Amazon Swords or highly unpalatable plants such as java fern and anubias?
Filtration?

There is also the question of nuisance algae or normal algae? If it's very problematic and rampant then there is a root cause that needs to be addressed if it is not rampant (all over your glass withing days of wiping it all off).
Is it just regular algae, such as on slow growing plant leaves (anubias sp) or spots occurring here and there?

Did I say the algae was on the glass? No. So dont jump to conclusions about me be lazy. My first post clearly said the algae is growing on the fake PLANTS and the TILE that I use on the bottom tank is a 130 gal with 0 ammonia and nitrite and 5ppm of nitrate. Late is on for 7 hours of the day. Algae on the plants isn't mug of a problem for me, it's the stuff growing on the tile at th bottom of the tank.
