Thanks!I think it's impossible to tell from that photo at that age. Could be a dovii could be a cross. I would expect to see a more prominent lateral line stripe, but that could just be the fishes mood.
A bit of age and a few more photos could help identify more positively.
Yes I would give it more time to settle in and show its true colours. Do you have any experience with yellow jacket cichlids? I saw a video of baby yellow jackets and think they look similar to the one I have.Looks like a young stressed out dovii.
I appreciate it. Would you say I have a Dovii? Have you seen Dovii with only that black spot and not the stripe? He has been settled in for a couple days now and still only has the spot, no signs of a stripe at all.Some pics for comparison. Hope there helpful.
