True Dovii?

It takes ages for Cichlids to settle in and show there true colours and personality.
Best advice to you is have patience, which most of us lack. Parachromis can take a year or more to become a glass banging monster full of personality.
Swapping and changing don't help at all.

Just an update. After swapping out out for the current Dovii I have, about 10 minutes after adding him to the tank his coloration went to exactly like the first one. Glad to say though after about 5 days he is starting to get the stripe back and looking/acting mighty fine in my opinion. I think I lucked out getting one that has red eyes in my opinion.

I just picked this guy/gal? up from my LFS. Was wondering if he looks to be a pure Dovii or a crossbreed or sorts. He is about 1.5” - 2” right now I would say. Thanks in advance.

Looks to be a cross possibly hard to tell when they haven't colored up!
